Introduction
I was born and raised in Yorkshire and moved back to live in God’s own county four years ago. I am incredibly lucky, I live in a gorgeous barn conversion in a beautiful area just outside Harrogate. I’ve spent the last four years renovating it and I’m almost finished, working on the garden now and I’m hoping I’ll be completely done in the not too distant future!
Over the years I have moved around quite a lot for work and spent time based in The Netherlands, becoming a reasonable Dutch speaker, although it is a little rusty now.
I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to visit some amazing places and there are still many more on the list that I’d love to see.
One of my hobbies is scuba diving and I’m qualified as a Master Scuba Diver Instructor, that is a big achievement for me, I’ve never been a fan of having my face in the water and had a fear of being under water. When I started my open water course, if you’d said to me that I would become an instructor, I’d have said you were crazy.
Workwise I have end to end supply chain experience, across different temperature regimes and market sectors with large and medium sized companies. With significant expertise in transforming customer relationships
Background
The early part of my career spent in sales for a pharmaceutical company and a beverages company I then moving into business development for an LSP and then became more involved in operations, customer service and contract management.
Over the years, I have had Customer Relationship roles at Heinz and Premier Foods, leading the supply chain relationship between the company and their major customers also covering customer service, demand/supply planning and major system implementations, change leadership and management of acquisitions/divestments.
I have completed short term contracts with Greencore Food to Go – sandwiches/salad/sushi and Greene King the brewer and pub owner, in supply chain roles.
Pharmaceutical supply chain experience was gained with a global company across distribution; multi-country and international; customer service; purchasing, with a knowledge gained of regulatory and training in GDP.
I believe my key strengths are Customer relationship transformation and customer supply chain strategy and optimisation to deliver value improvement. End to end supply chain experience and knowledge combined with commercial insight give a rounded view to problem solving and solutions. Leading teams through change and developing and improving processes are skills that have been developed in businesses going through significant change.
Aspirations
There is the natural aspiration to get back to work, like most people I have a mortgage and bills to pay. The recent weeks have given me a chance to reflect on my choice to go self employed though. As long as I can make it work, it gives me flexibility in my working hours/days, so that I am able to have a long lunch sometimes with family and friends, have a day out, walk my dog during the day (especially in winter) and lots of other things that add to the quality of life. Post lockdown, I’m looking forward to meeting up with friends again, both those that are near and those that are further away and getting to whatever the new normal is.
Going forward, I hope companies will realise that employees can work in different ways and the workplace will overall become more flexible. Recent weeks have shown that in many cases things can be done differently and effectively.
Finally, I hope that the world stays a kinder place, we have seen some amazing acts of kindness, support and goodwill in our communities as well as positive impact on our environment. I hope it stays that way.

We have introduce a micro-consultancy concept called Loguru lite
,
The principle is that you can book time by the hour with subject matter experts to help and mentor through a number of disciplines across Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement and Technology. The view being that sometimes consultancy can be seen as being heavy and expensive, when on occasion just access to an expert can add sufficient value to ensure success.
