Introduction

Having returned to the UK, my aspirations are to offer LOGURU clients the benefits of my experience, knowledge, insight, and wisdom gained from a very varied and extensive career that has developed within corporate entities. My core competencies include the development and management of end-to-end supply chains whilst engaging directly with LSPs to ensure the seamless flow of products from vendor to LDC; Freight and Logistics Procurement, ensuring that the supplier sourcing process is process driven using the best available E-platforms; Programme and Project Management ensuring seamless implementations: Transformation and Change Management ensuring cross-functional collaboration: Freight Operational management and control ensuring team development and stakeholder alignment. 

Having worked with so many teams across different continents and cultures for 40 years, one of my key aspirations would be to support the younger generation of  Logisticians by way of coaching and mentoring. My personal aspirations are to lead a healthy and happy life, enabling me to support my family as they settle into life in the UK. My hobbies include walking, music (jazz), golf, football and wine. 

Background

With nearly 4 decades of professional experience attained within Supply Chain and Logistics, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise attained within UK, European, African, Asian and Middle East markets. I started my career during the mid-1980s with British Airways at Gatwick Airport, but after 6 years, I moved into the premium drinks industry sector, spending the next 15 years working for Diageo. During this period, I was very fortunate to live and work in a number of countries, including South Africa, Japan, Thailand and Australia, which broadened my perspective and gave me a deeper understanding of how international supply chains are developed. 

I returned to the UK in 2004 to get married to my wife Dao, who I have been together with for 20 years now, and we are blessed with two beautiful teenage daughters. Between 2005 and 2011, I further enhanced my experience working for UK-based companies such as Wolsey, Hovis and Premier Foods before taking up an opportunity to go international again with The Alshaya Group. I initially worked out of Kuwait and laterally Dubai, but after nearly 13 years working in the Middle East, it was time for the family to return to the UK and our home in Warwick. 

I am delighted to have joined LOGURU as a consulting partner and look forward to offering my support to the broader team across a range of disciplines. I am looking forward to 2025 and beyond. Since 1994, I have navigated complex international supply chains successfully applying my Supply Chain and Freight Operational expertise. I have further developed and managed many routes to market initiatives, working in collaboration with international LSPs and setting up efficient supply chains for major brands such as H&M, Victoria's Secret, BBW,William Sonoma, Smirnoff Ice and Guinness.
